Singapore 20 May 2010-The World Health Organization ("WHO") has awarded the 2010 Dr LEE Jong-wook Memorial Prize for Public Health ("the award") to Action for AIDS, Singapore ("AfA").

The award, in recognition of AfA's outstanding contributions in HIV/AIDS education, care and advocacy, consists of a plaque and an amount of US$85,000. It will be presented to Professor Roy Chan, founder and President of AfA, on 20 May 2010 by the President of the Sixty-third World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.

As a gay man, have you ever wondered about the challenges that other gay men might face in their lives, and their journey towards self discovery and acceptance? If you think that you could contribute to a peer support group and benefit from it, this is for you.

The memorial service will be held on the 16 May 2010 (Sunday) 7pm at the Telok Ayer Hong Lim Green Community Centre's Open Stage @ Hong Lim Park.

The annual event that commemorates the lives lost to HIV/AIDS was supported by the Inter-Religious Organisation of Singapore and the Singapore Red Cross. Co-organised by Action for AIDS and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the event also included the support of community partner, First Hand from City Harvest Community Service Association.
